Fayze’s Restaurant

Fayze's Keeps Giving

When 2020 Keeps Taking.

The always charitable Fayze’s Restaurant Keeps Giving During COVID.
The restaurant  keeps adapting to keep costs low and sales going but is worried as winter approaches and outdoor seating is eliminated.

Giving Because You Will Receive

When 2020 Keeps Taking.

WRITER’s NOTE:

When I went to Fayze’s to shoot video for today’s story, there was a woman at the counter inserting money into a Habitat for Humanity donation box. She was alone. Her appearance gave the impression she was not well-off. She was very proud of her contribution over several weeks of giving nearly $100 to Habitat. It made me smile to see this woman being charitable.

I had already interviewed Fayze’s co-owner Kelsey Williams. I knew her concerns about being able to give employees hours and how she fretted about whether they could support their families.

What happened next showed me Kelsey’s character. The Habitat-giving customer asked Kelsey for a free meal. Kelsey could have said a million things. What she said was, “Have a seat. We’ll see what we can do.”

While 2020 has been challenging to Fayze’s, owners Drew and Kelsey Williams keep giving.
