Heavy Truck Road Restrictions Begin March 6

Heavy Truck Road Restrictions Begin March 6 in La Crosse County

La Crosse County Highway Department announced that seasonal weight restrictions will go into effect on March 6, 2023, on various County Trunk Highways. The County says melting snow and rain may cause the restrictions to be applied earlier. Drivers are to watch for signs being posted.

For a map, go to: https://www.lacrossecounty.org/highway

The weight restrictions apply only to country trunk roads where weather conditions and heavy trucks can easily damage roads.

Weight restrictions are:

TOTAL NUMBER OF AXLES MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT
Two (2) Axles 8 Ton (16,000 lbs.)
Three (3) or More Axles (Straight Truck) 13 Ton (26,000 lbs.)
Combination Vehicles (Tractor & Trailer) 18 Ton (36,000 lbs.)

The County will keep restrictions in place until highways have regained their strength and the frost has dissipated. Notices will be posted when the seasonal weight restrictions are removed.
