Four Ways to Help Buy Local, Support Small Businesses

Four Ways to Help Buy Local, Support Small Businesses

ENGAGE:
Your choices to buy local and support small businesses impact our quality of life

From an interview with Nick Roush, small business owner (Root Down Yoga & Roush Rentals)  & President, North La Crosse Business Association during their “Get on Living Safer” campaign.

Amazon's owner Jeff Bezos isn't going to deliver a truckload of money when we need our roads fixed or to pay for our schools." - nick Roush

Stop the Leaks from Not Buying Local

Our economy is like a barrel. Tourism and national companies bring new money into our businesses.

The goal is to circulate as much of that money from businesses to employees to local purchases as possible. That’s where our friends and families work.

FACT: Local companies have 2x the impact as national chains.

The more money that stays here, the higher the quality of life.

Plus, there’s more money for roads, schools, and more.

Buying local matters.

Economy as a Barrel with tourism and national/global money coming in, money circulating in the barrel among businesse,s employees & nonprofits and a spigot on the side with money leaking to other communities

Think of Friends and Neighbors Before You Click

Buying Local Takes Intention, but Local Friends & Value Your Effort.

An example of buying local

Your son needs a calculator for school.

Target: $84
Amazon: $84 (and a two-week backlog)

Target: employs a local person.
