History of the Property
$10.5 mil Former Midwest Security/United Healthcare For Sale: This six-acre, longtime headquarters, dropped in price from $13 million to $10.5 million in April. This property, once the headquarters for Midwest Securities, then occupied by United Healthcare, is being sold by its owner, Midwest Investments LLC. The company also owns the land to the East. The tax-assessed value of the land increased more than $2 mil since 2018 while the structure’s tax assessment has dropped by approximately the same amount.
UnitedHealth leased the building since 2002, after it purchased the company but not the property in 2002. UnitedHealth has since been purchased by Optum Serve. It began merging its office with co-owned Logistics Health.
A local owner began the company that built the building in 1993. Midwest Security President and CEO Ronald Houser founded the company in 1974. When sold, the company had more than 350 employees occupying the 66,000 sq ft of space.
Deed information shows the property was originally owned by the Pralles who sold the entire business development area to Elmwood Partners in 1988.
