One year after the building trades union workers went on strike, discussion of a wage cut went quiet. The Master Builders Association and the union met for about a month with labor leaders saying they were being told by their national organization not to accept a wage cut.
The Master Builders Association had weeks earlier proposed a wage cut to bring construction costs into alignment with declines in the cost of living and construction material costs.
The May 1 meeting ended with neither organization speaking officially on an outcome.
